After trying many diets, the reasonable one continues to be the “raw plant-based.” Considering that burning my tongue and overeating were daily occurrences in my younger years, I now aim to eat food without fire and keeping it simple allows me to eat less. I will tell you about a book that began my search for optimum health and why one keeps a food journal.

The book, “eating without heating” had a big impact on my life. After reading it, I studied my tongue further and its taste buds. Then, I found that by eating less cooked foods my tongue’s sensation had come back to life! I began to notice all of the food’s flavors. Also, I had a feeling of satisfaction and contentment after my tongue was stimulated, and I was left without wanting to eat more.

Finally, a “food journal” has helped me keep track of my time, money, and energy spent on food. After a lot of writing, I bought glass containers and pre-cut all the produce to save TIME. To save MONEY, I bought plant foods (nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains, herbs, and roots) that were on sale, then looked up recipes to combine them. Finally, I only rode a bicycle and carried a backpack to the grocery store, and by doing so, my ENERGY became stronger. Take note that money, time, and energy are significant so logging them will ease your mind.

To survive “the battle of the fittest,” my goal was not to eat healthy, it was to find “a way” to stay fit FOREVER! By eliminating addictive foods and replacing them with simple raw plant-based combinations, I have a sane and safe strategy to eating. And, keeping track of all my money, time, and energy, I can “see” my life much better.
